Summer Programs for Kids
We LOVE going outside when the weather is nice! All of our summer programs will be out in the park if it is possible and the weather is nice!
Early Musicianship
Instructor: Kayla Matzen
Cost: $140
Dates: July 29th - August 2nd
Ages: 4 - 5
When: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm
Description: This program is perfect for young children who love to sing and dance, or who would like to get a head start on some skills needed for private music lessons! Early Childhood Music classes are designed at SAM to form a strong foundation for future music study and enjoyment. Children in this class will have fun developing their sense of pitch and rhythm through songs, rhymes, movement, singing games, and exploration of simple percussion instruments. We will listen to various pieces of music and respond with drawing and movement. Children will also be introduced to basic musical notation.
Sing Out!
Instructor: Kayla Matzen
Cost: $140
Dates: July 29th - August 2nd
Ages: 6 - 12
When: Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Description: Come and sing with us! Participants will learn the basics of vocal technique and practice part- singing through rounds, partner songs and simple harmonies. Participants will learn a variety of repertoire from pop songs to traditional favourites that will be performed at the end of the term!
Performance Date: Sing Out Family Concert: August 2nd
Introduction to Guitar and Drums
Instructor: Max Konyi
Cost: $260
Dates: July 15th - 19th
Ages: 8 - 11
When: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Description: Find your passion, get a head start on Private lessons and learn in a fun group environment.
*Students must have their own guitar - we can assist with rental recommondation or sourcing an instrument. You do not need a drum kit or drum sticks.
Introduction to Violin and Piano
Instructor: Michelle Lacombe
Cost: $260
Dates: July 22nd - 26th
Ages: 6 - 9
When: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Concert Band and Chamber Music
Instructor: Michelle Lacomb
Cost: $270
Dates: August 12th - 16th
Ages: 9 - 13
When: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Description: Open to brass and Woodwind players with at least 1 year experience. Paricipants will play in large and small ensembles and recieve personal instruction. There will be small group and solo perfomarnce opportunities.
*Students must have their own instrument - we can assist with rental recommondation or sourcing an instrument.
