Registration for 2020-2021 group classes opens June 13th

 

Broadway or Bust Musical Theatre (Jr)

Mondays, 3:30 – 4:30 pm

Ages 6-8

Students will receive instruction and training in the areas of singing, dancing, and acting with classes culminating in a fully staged production of a Broadway Musical at the Eagle Eye Theatre. Students will gain knowledge, skills, confidence and stage experience while working as a team on this fun production. 

 

Broadway or Bust Musical Theatre (Int)

Mondays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm

Ages 8-10

Students will receive instruction and training in the areas of singing, dancing, and acting with classes culminating in a fully staged production of a Broadway Musical at the Eagle Eye Theatre. Ages 11-17

Students will receive instruction and training in the areas of singing, dancing, and acting with classes culminating in a fully staged production of a Broadway Musical at the Eagle Eye Theatre. Students will gain  knowledge, skills, confidence and stage experience while working as a team on this fun production. 

 

Singing for Young Musicians

Tuesdays, 3:30 – 4:00 pm

Ages 5-6 (Kindergarten - Grade 1)

Instructor: Melissa Braun

Come and sing with us! Students will spend 30 minutes each week working together as a vocal ensemble, learning the basics of vocal technique and performance etiquette. Students will gain comfort with their voices through singing and listening games. Students will develop their sense of pitch and tone through vocal exercises and fun, simple repertoire which will be performed throughout the year. Students will be introduced to the basics of musical notation, ear training and expression in music. 

 

Sing Out

Tuesdays, 4:00 – 4:45 pm

Ages 7 – 9 (Grade 2 - Grade 4)

Instructor: Melissa Braun

Students will spend 45 minutes each week working together as a vocal ensemble, learning the basics of vocal technique and performance etiquette. Students will build musicianship through practicing rounds, partner songs and simple harmonies as well as ear training and reading simple notation. This ensemble will learn a variety of repertoire from pop songs to traditional favourites to be performed throughout the year. Register here.

 

Sing Together

Tuesdays, 4:45 - 5:30 pm

Ages 10-13 (Grade 5 and up)

Instructor: Melissa Braun

Students will spend 45 minutes each week working together as a vocal ensemble, applying healthy vocal technique to popular songs from the radio, movies and Broadway as well as traditional choral repertoire. Students will gain skills in simple harmonies, stage presence, artistry, vocal technique and musicianship through songs, ear training and basic note reading.

 

Ukulele: Level 1

Fridays, 3:30 - 4:15

Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:15 

Ages 6-9

Learn the basics of ukulele in a fun group ensemble! Total beginners will learn basic strumming and picking techniques and will build their repertoire of simple songs. Students are required to provide their own ukulele. Please contact us if you require assistance purchasing an instrument.

 

Ukulele: Level 2

Wednesdays, 4:15 - 5:00

Ages 7-10

Develop your ukulele playing in a fun group ensemble! Uke players with one year of experience will expand their knowledge of strumming and picking techniques and will continue to build a repertoire of songs for singing, picking, and strumming. Students are required to provide their own ukulele. Please contact us if you require assistance purchasing an instrument. 

 

Guitar: Level 1 

Wednesdays, 5:45 - 6:30

Ages 9-11

Instructor: Lisa Mullaly

Learn the basics of guitar in a fun group ensemble! This class is an introduction to the guitar and does not require any previous experience. Students will learn picking, strumming, and reading of basic notation. Students need to provide their own guitar. Please speak to a SAM administrator if you need help sourcing an instrument. 

 

Guitar: Level 2

Wednesdays, 5:00 - 5:45

Ages 10-12

Instructor: Lisa Mullaly

Junior Rock Band

Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Ages 8-11

Instructor: Lisa Mullaly

Experience the fun and satisfaction of playing music with others! Gain skills in collaboration, compromise, and musicianship as we work together towards a year-end show. Students will perform a variety of repertoire (not strictly rock) from a variety of time-periods. Vocalists, guitarists, bassists, and keyboard players are encouraged to join this exciting ensemble! All levels are welcome, but students should have a basic level of knowledge of their instrument.

 

Piano: Level 1

Thursdays, 3:30 – 4:15 

Thursdays, 5:15 - 6:00 

Ages 4-6

Instructor: Lisa Mullaly

Learn the basics of piano in a fun group ensemble! This class is an introduction to the piano and does not require any previous experience. Students will learn to play simple songs, read notation and experiment with improvisation. 

Piano: Level 2

Thursdays, 4:15 – 5:00

Thursdays, 6:00 - 6:45 

Ages 6-8

Instructor: Lisa Mullaly

Piano students with at least one year playing experience will love continuing to develop their skills in a group setting. Students will become more proficient note readers, listeners, and musicians as they develop their repertoire at the piano.
