Introduction to Music Theory: Basic, Intermmediate, and Advanced Rudiments
Music Theory lessons are available to individuals and groups. We will form a group of similarly leveled students whenever possible to help make sessions affordable. Private lessons are available for $50/ hour. Please contact SAM for more information.
Description: Participants will be introduced to key concepts of music theory such as basic notation, scales, chords, key signatures, note values, cadences, and intervals. No previous keyboard or theory knowledge required. Students can choose to work towards an RCM exam or receive help preparing for a university entrance requirements.
Materials: Students are required to purchase the the workbook "Elementary Rudiments of Music" by Barbara Wharram. This text is available at Long and McQuade and Tom Lee Music.
