Procedure

Registration for private music lessons takes place in consultation with a Squamish Academy of Music administrator. This ensures that all students are matched with the best teacher, instrument, and schedule to fit their individual needs.

Please take a look through the information provided on the website, then contact SAM at 604-815-4482 or  info@squamishacademyofmusic.com. Our current office hours are 9-2, Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Registration is not guaranteed until payment has been received. We accept cash, cheque, and credit card.

Students register by the term. Payment is made in a one time payment for the full term, or in even monthly payments on the first of the month. Monthly payments must be secured by post-dated cheque, preauthorized credit card, or preauthorized account debit.

Prices 

Private lessons and classes through September - June are purchased by the term. Term rate is based on a rate of $50/hour. Payment may be made by the term or monthly by cash, cheque, or credit card .

Private lessons through the summer may be scheduled on a week to week basis.

Policies 

Student cancellations will not be refunded, however up to 1 hour of lessons per term will be rescheduled at a predetermined make-up lesson time. Cancellation must be made 10 days in advance by email or phone. Teacher cancellations will be rescheduled, or a suitable substitute teacher will be provided. There is no refund, credit, or make-up time provided for missed group classes or summer camps.

Lesson fees do not include the cost of an accompanist for recitals, festivals and other performance opportunities. 

All borrowed materials must be returned by the following lesson or student may be charged a replacement fee.

Students must give notice of at least 4 weeks if they wish to retain their lesson time for the following semester.

Group classes may be cancelled due to lack of enrolment up to one week prior to start date. A full refund will be issued in the case of program cancellation.

Students may withdraw from a group class up to one week prior to start date and receive a refund of 85% of registration fee. No refund will be issued after one week prior to start date.

Financial Assistance

It is important to Squamish Academy of Music to make music education accessible to everyone. Please contact us regarding assistance if you have financial need.
