The actual best part of being part of SAM has been community – being mentored by older students, finding a community of supportive peers, and as our daughter grew older, mentoring younger students as she was mentored. More than the music, this is what SAM has given her.
My time at SAM gave me the belief needed to pursue music more fully. Now I perform in operas and teach the next generation of singers.
My dream is that music (particularly singing) becomes as cool as mountain biking in Squamish. SAM provides many paths to building a healthier more musical Squamish.
I particularly appreciate the professionalism and the fact that a variety of musical education occurs under one roof.
